DHow to defend slam dunk crown
By DHCMan | November 16, 2008
Let’s count the ways that this is a good day.
First, I just traded David Lee for Travis Outlaw in my fantasy basketball league. I wasn’t happy about having to throw in free bone spurs to make the deal happen, but whatever — I’m delighted to add another Blazer to my virtual locker room.
Second, I had a chocolate dip donut from Tim Horton’s. Man, so good.
And third, Magic center Dwight Howard, fresh off his first (and rare) triple-double, said Wednesday he has every intention to defend his slam-dunk title in February during All-Star Weekend in Phoenix. Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel reports:
“‘I thought about that [Wednesday], actually,’ Howard said. ‘Trying to think about what dunks I can do.’ […] Howard said he’ll have a new Web site up and running within the next few days, and on it he will ask fans to suggest dunks he can perform. ‘I think that will be really cool,’ he said.”
Dime asks the obvious question — and I’ll pose the same one to you — “What dunks would you suggest Superman try this second time around?”
Personally, I’m hoping for more comics-inspired theatrics, but with a villain twist. Like maybe something to do with the “Brotherhood of Evil Mutants”. That’d make the Adidas family happy, right?

DHow with triple double
By DHCMan | November 16, 2008
Even after his latest feat made his nickname a little outdated, Dwight Howard doesn’t mind if people still call him “The Daily Double.”
Howard recorded his first career triple-double with 30 points, 19 rebounds and 10 blocks Wednesday night and the Orlando Magic beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 109-92. It was the first time a player had at least 30 points and 10 blocks in a game since Hakeem Olajuwon had 31 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocks against Dallas on April 13, 1996, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
“I wish he would have had one more rebound. It would have looked really even on the stat sheet—30, 20 and 10,” Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said. “You can’t dominate a game much more than that.”
Howard had a double-double and matched his previous career best of seven blocks in the first half as Orlando raced to a 71-42 lead. He then scored the Magic’s first nine points after halftime to stretch the lead to 32.
After that, the only drama was whether Howard would get his 10th block.

Dwight Howard dominating some playoffs
By DwightHowardClub.com | April 23, 2008
Sorry, it’s been awhile since we’ve updated around here at the Dwight Howard Club. But it’s playoff time and the Magic are off to a hot start. Howard and the Magic took a 2-0 series lead on the Raptors Tuesday night. Our guy went nuts again. Check out his first two games of the series:
Game 1: 25 pts, 22 rebounds, 5 blocks
Game 2: 29 pts, 20 rebounds, 3 blocks
Talk about DOMINATING! If D Howard plays this way it will be tough for any team to compete with the magic. Now they go to Toronto to try and break serve and win on the road. Good luck Dwight!
